What is Reiki?

Everything is made of energy! The word Reiki means “life force energy.” Reiki is waves of energy that can help bring balance to the body and emotions. Energy doesn’t have physical boundaries and can travel through time and space. We are all connected to the same source of energy, therefore we are all connected. We just need to tap into that energy.

How to prepare

Find a calm and quiet place. You can sit or lie down. 

Relax & get comfortable. Dress comfortably: you might want to wear socks and get a blanket and pillow. Close your eyes, and focus on your breathing. 

Reflect on your intentions for the session. Check-in with your physical body, your emotions, and your spiritual self. You can call in who you want to be part of your session.

If you have pets, they might lay next to or on top of you during the session. Cats especially can sense the energy. Cats are also energetic healers so they might be aiding in the energy healing process!  

It is recommended that you should not drink alcohol, consume too much caffeine, or smoke at least 3 hours before your session.

During the session 

You might feel the energy shift. The amazing thing about Reiki is that you do not have to feel it for it to work!!!  The energy will go to where it is needed the most. You might feel sensations in your body like heat, cold, calm, pins (no comma) and needles, tingles, chill, or throbbing.

You might experience “visions” or images in your mind's eye. Any of your Clairs can be activated during a session. 

After the session

HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE!!! Drink one or two 6-8 ounces of water after the session. Continue to drink 64 ounces or more for the next 48 hours. Water helps the body detox and flush out negative energy. 

You might want to journal after your session to remember what you felt or saw and to release any emotions that need to continue to clear out of your body and energy field.
